Stop 8: Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park, kids. Simply, one of the best sunsets I've ever seen in my entire life. This picture is literally one of my favorites from the entire trip. I bought a postcard from the park in the morning (not knowing the sunset was going to look exactly like it). The sun started to set and I was like HOLY SHIT J LEMME GET THE POSTCARD. And bam. look how perfect the picture turned out. Basically it's like I took it, huh, J?

Oh what we do here, you ask? Well, I'll just start from the beginning! As I said, we woke up at a shooting range. My bad. I didnt know the campsite was an active gun range. What's a girl to do, okay? After safely leaving this campsite, we left for Saguaro National Park. Turns out there are two sections; an east park and a west park. We started the day swiniging by the west park because we camped right otuside of it (and we weren't sure if we'd be back in this direction). The drive there was really pretty and the road had some sick whoops if you were feeling frisky. Then, we met J's grandparents at the east park and took the scenic drive loop around the east section, stopping at most of the viewpoints along the way for pictures n such.

After leaving the park I tried to map us to this taco truck but the taco truck wasn't there and I am an idiot, apparently. We also saw a Jeep truck that looked EXACTLY like the one we are driving (with two bikes on the back, a rack, everything). It was extremely simulation-like and freaked me the hell out.

Anyways, we ate lunch and went back to the west park for sunset.

I truly can't emphasize enough how big the cacti are here. Literally imagine a forest. Any forest. Now replace all of the trees with cactuses. Now make them 50 feet tall. Now give them like 5 arms each. And sometimes they have titties. Like this one on the left. Fucking crazy, right?

This is another park I had never heard of until J and I started mapping our route for the trip, but I am SO glad we went, and 1000% would recommend. Theres a bunch

of hiking you could do there too, but we were kinda just chillin so we didn't hike a whole lot. Oh also, J's grandparents live in the area, so we stayed with them for a few days which meant A BED! and A SHOWER! Hell yeah (and thanks again, guys!!).

Solid day again, friends.

xoxo,

Drew
